oktober 14th: start of a new and long project trip to Malawi
- October 13, 2019 - Board members Jan Meijering, Marleen Luiten and a colleague of Marleen at neighborhood care Annette de Leede will go to Malawi on October 14. In addition to setting up, delivering and placing the relief supplies from the container (see previous blogs), intensive work will be done on the roll-out of the home care organization, home based care in Kakwale.

Marleen, Annette and Jan will stay in Malawi for 7 weeks. They can stay for this long period in a wing of the Catholic hospital in Nkhamenia, where they can cook for themselves, so that the chance of health risks is much smaller. A second-hand car has been bought for transport (renting a car in Malawi is very expensive) afterwards this car can be sold again. The Dutchman Sytse Fluitsma, who temporarily lives in Lilongwe, and who helps us with several things, was able to find a suitable car for us. The Majafonds van Buurtzorg Nederland has made an amount available for setting up home-based care in Kakwale, but that will not be nearly enough to set up and secure the project carefully. Our Foundation has pledged to carry out the project. As a Foundation, we will have to hold additional actions to finance this project for the next 3 years.
